Why Charitable Trusts? It’s wise use of wealth!

In the 19th Century there was a young William Carey, who used to go about the villages and the hamlets of England, preaching the gospel wherever he found the opportunity. One day someone said to him, "Carey, you are neglecting your business in doing so much of this work." Carey replied, "This is my business. I only cobble shoes to pay the expenses."

What a great testimony! If we could, as Christians, realize that our stewardship for God should be our business. As faithful servants of God, we need to stay focused on His glory. We need to remember that we are stewards of the gospel that has been committed to us, and entrusted to us. Deuteronomy 8:18 says, "Remember the Lord, your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth."

As we think about how grateful we are to the Lord for the ability that He has given us to produce wealth, and the opportunities that He has given us, we must always remember our stewardship and keep our focus on the glory of God. As faithful servants, we have to understand the Kingdom work which has been committed to us. One of the things that I’m asked so often is about saving money, as well as spending money, and of course, ways in which we can be good stewards of what we have been blessed with.

If you have never looked into the idea of establishing a trust...a trust that can be established for your family, for you and your spouse, or as for an individual.... you should consider the possibility that a trust can, not only continue to grow and be used for the Kingdom and for the glory of our Savior Jesus Christ, but can produce income for you, as well, while you’re living. A Charitable Remainder Trust may seem rather complicated or confusing, but with the right help, it can be established very inexpensively to the great benefit of the Kingdom of God, as well as for you. One thing I continually see as I speak to people around the country is that many donors...people that want to give to Kingdom work, such as the ministry of Songtime USA, are searching for ways to increase their income. As interest rates on CDs and money market accounts continue to go lower, the rate on a Charitable Trust can still be very appealing, ranging from five percent (5%) to twelve percent (12%).

If you have been fortunate enough to have been blessed by God with wealth, remember that nothing we have done is without the power of God. It is "He who gave us the ability to produce wealth." Possibly you need to consider a Charitable Trust to help you pay the expenses while you are about the business of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Remember that we are stewards of the gospel that has been committed to us.
